HISTORY OF MDLIBTECH
MDLIBTECH was formed in 2015 at a meeting of the Sailor Network Managers Group. Out of recognition that the Sailor Network as a topic of discussion took very little time (since adequate funding became available in FY2001 and the wireless infrastructure was built 2004-5), and the recognition that the group had evolved into a general forum for IT support staff and managers, meetings specifically about Sailor were discontinued, and a new group name was adopted to encourage greater participation among the libraries.
GROUP CHARTER
MDLIBTECH exists to provide a forum where Maryland public and regional library information technology staff can share our expertise and insight, and to provide a framework for efficient learning and collaboration among the membership. The membership is composed of Maryland public and regional library technology specialists, generalists and enthusiasts, and representatives from the Maryland State Library. We proceed to meet and coordinate with the encouragement of the libraries that employ us, and the Maryland State Library.
MD Tech Connect
MDLIBTECH has been a sponsor of MD Tech Connect since the event's inception in 2015. For the last three years, Tech Connect has served as the group's December meeting.
